Research overview:
Hydrogen as an energy source has merits of substantially no restraint of resource and environments friendly. From long-range viewpoint there is no doubt that it will be the major energy to substitute petroleum. Establishment of relevant fundamental material techniques is indispensable when we consider earnest utilization of hydrogen as an energy source, i.e. realization of hydrogen energy system. This study aims to provide a guideline for higher performance of magnesium-based lightweight hydrogen storage alloys, keeping in mind the application of the hydrogen-storageg alloys to transportation by hydrogen-driven automobiles.
