Integrated research program on effects of endocrine disrupters on agriculture, forestry and fisheries and their mechanism of action on domestic animals and fishes

農林水産業における内分泌かく乱物質の動態解明と作用機構に関する総合研究
Study period:1999 - 2002
Research overview:
The endocrine disturbing action is suspected in the chemical, including dioxins, pesticides and organometals. These chemicals are transported mainly through the food chain. It is therefore of urgent necessity to solve these serious problems so as to ensure the safety of agricultural products and to conserve agricultural, forest and aquatic ecosystems. Objectives of this project are as follows: 1) Investigation of effects of endocrine disrupters on agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 2) elucidation of the fate and mechanism of action of endocrine disrupters, 3) development of techniques to protect against the influences of endocrine disrupters.
