Research overview:
Radio wave echo observation is a method to investigate the under structure of the surface layer. The method utilizes characteristics that the surface of planets is covered with dried regolith or mega-regolith, electric conductivity is very low so that the transmission property of radio wave is high. In APOLLO 17 this method was tried and succeeded in the search of underground structure at several positions in moon. We are to perform this radio wave observation by radar sounder (LRS) mounted on 'SELENE' and enforcing investigation on the object of the observation, analytical method and its feasibility.
