Establishment of good quality and stable production technique for warm land specialty vegetables: (1) Establishment stable production technique for high quality celery
1998 - 2001
Problems with celery varieties in the Awa region are that they had short first internodes of stem and few of them are graded high. Therefore, an investigation was conducted on cultivation methods for high quality celery varieties to aim at high profit. It was necessary to avoid nitrogen deficiency during seedling growth. In addition, good yield was secured by avoiding nitrogen at the initial growth phase after fixed planting and supplying nitrogen after the middle growth phase. However, further examinations of proper amount of nitrogen fertilization and its relationship to quality were necessary.
