Research overview:
The relationship between air entrainment and flame/plume behavior was studied experimentally when a fire source was placed in and near corner of vertical walls of an atrium. Heat release rate and separation distance from the wall to the fire source (gas diffusion burner) were varied systematically. Measuring of temperature and upward velocity was carried out and mass flux and air entrained mass flux were estimated. Modeling on flame height, and temperature and upward velocity along the trajectory was carried out.
