Research overview:
1) In the research and development of equipment which is forced to be driven under severe condition, tribology is a key to assure its driving. In such severe condition, interaction on the atomic and molecular basis is made clear on the friction surface and so general tribology or its extending technology including conventional mechanical friction technology is harly applied and basic technology is should be developed to suport its research and development in view points. For the establishment of new lubrication and wear-resistance design under severe condition, a surface phenomenon on the atomic and molecular basis is clarified and study on lubricating and sliding materials and their design is accelerated. 2) research plan (1) to clarify the basic phenomenon of microtribology, (2) to control and apply microtribology process under sever condition and (3) to enhance peripheral and core technology for microtribology.
