Research overview:
The objective of this R&D project is to improve the related technologies required for offshore oil field development. The research efforts are being directed to the development of not only the relavant hardware technologies but also software technologies, designed to assist for technical decision making. The 1st phase, consisted of 11 themes, has been completed in 1989 and the 2nd phase has been started in 1990 with themes to develop the applicable technologies for deeper water areas. 1) Optimization Program for SPM System, 2) Optimization Program for a New Configuration of FPS, 3) Verification of Optimization Program for Semisubmersible Type FPS, 4)Optimized Design Method for Compliant Tower, 5) Optimization Program for Offshore Oil Field Development System, 6) Optimization for Subsea Production System, 7) Flexible Production Riser System for Deep Water.
