Research overview:
The purpose is to accelerate electrons up to GeV using the laser produced field in plasmas. We study acceleration of thermal electrons and also relativistic electrons by fast plasma waves excited by forward Raman scattering, two frequency beat wave of carbon dioxide laser, or wake field produced with ultrashort laser pulses. Electron and ion accelerations from an ultra-intense laser plasma interaction are also studied.
