Research overview:
On the basis of the results accumulated thus far, we gather sample pieces from the whole tree of a clone showing remarkable timber properties, and evaluate the variation of carbon content within each individual tree and the variation among the individuals. By using the evaluation results, we establish the method of estimating the carbon content variation among individuals. Further, based on the above results, the model selection of those clones which have high capacity of carbon fixation and absorption per tree is practiced for certified forests.
