Research overview:
Following the revision on 25th October, 1996 of the Enforcement Regulations of Air Pollution Prevention Law (Ordinance No.1 of the Ministry of Health and Welfare/the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of 1971), 'On Environmental Standards Regarding Pollution of the Atmosphere' (Notification No.25 of the Environment Agency of 1973) and 'On Environmental Standards Regarding Nitrogen Dioxide' (Notification No. 385 of the Environment Agency of 1978), the so-called 'dry measuring method' was added to the constant monitoring of the situation of air pollution based on Article 22 of Air Pollution Prevention Law and the measuring method of the emergency measures based on Article 23 of that Law. In view of such changes, we conducted parallel tests of dry measuring method and so-called wet measuring method, and evaluated the measured values on the basis of 'Evaluation of Measured Values by Automatic Measuring Machine for Constant Monitoring of Environmental Atmosphere' (hereinafter referred to as 'the Report') compiled in March, 1998 by Japan Environmental Technology Association (JETA).
