1988 - 2002
Investigating Researcher (6)：
We have performed a large scale hospital epidemiological study for all patients in Aichi Cancer Center Hospital since 1988 to contribute to prophylaxis measure in Aichi Prefecture. The common life styles such as foods for health have been examined. The database for about 83,000 people could be made until December, 2000 as the primary examination. The patients are divided into less than 20% of patients with cancer and more than 80% of patients without cancer. Comparison of life-style characteristics of cancer and no- cancer patients enables to search factors for carcinogenesis. Major analyzed subjects have been cancers in stomach, colon, rectum, lung, pancreas, esophagus of male, breast of female, uterus, and lymphoma. The factor items were general diet habit, intake frequency of 18 kinds of foods, exercise habit, smoking and drinking habits and so on. An analytical model was developed to check the properties of life style for patients with cancer.
