Role of mast cell proteases in allergic inflammation

Research overview:
Serine proteases in the granules of mast cells are known to play an important role in allergic inflammation. However, the detailed mechanism is not clarified yet. We have studied the role of chymase in the granules of mast cells in the process of degranulation and also the pathophysiological roles of released chymase and tryptase in the formation of allergic inflammation.
