Research overview:
The aim of this study is to elucidate neural mechanisms in visual associative cortex for visual cognition through analysis on single neuron's activities recorded in associative cortices in monkeys performing perceptual behaviors for objects consisted of various colors or forms. In early stage of visual processing in the cerebral cortex, external scene is parsed into elementary features. Main concern is active mechanism including attention how these features are integrated as individual objects.
