Recently, in many areas, high functional composite materials made of different element materials attract attention as promising materials for buildings and structures. It is expected to introduce piezoelectric element or ER fluid to multi-layer beams. It is also expected to add concrete with a wide rage of functions such as recyclability, high toughness, polymer and environmental friendliness. It is, therefore, important to understand the dynamic behavior of composite materials by adding higher function to existing composite materials for tackling with safety issues caused by deterioration or collapse of buildings and structures and diverse environmental issues caused by vibration and impact. This project aims at explaining dynamic behavior of FRP multi-layer beam and reinforced concrete theoretically and experimentally, by giving higher functionality to these host materials which can be designed differently depending on the purpose. The results of last year's study were as follows. An analysis method for FRP multi-layer sheets was proposed and the effectiveness of the method was examined compared to experiment result. These results were published in an international journal (1 publication) and at a Canada and Japan joint conference on composite materials held in Canada (1 presentation). It is expected that data on dynamic linear behavior of reinforced concrete will be obtained.
