Research overview:
Wintering of amorphophalus seed-bulbs in field has long been done as natural cultivation in warm regions. It is expected to reduce drastically the cost of labor and facilities by cutting out storage in this way. On the other hand, the possibility of reduction in income due to cold damage or disease of seed-bulbs must be considered. Our aim is to clarify the possibility of wintering cultivation through studies on the types of wintering cultivation, the breeds suitable for it and the conditions of farm field location.
