Research overview:
Wasp venom is known to contain three major peptidic components such as wasp kinins, wasp chemotactic peptides and mastoparans. Although they are composed of similar hydrophobic residues, their specific targets on the cells must be very different with each others, because the peptides induce such different cellular responses. In this study, the action mechanism of wasp venom peptides is to be elucidated aiming for the physiological applications to various cellular systems.
