Research overview:
In order to develop a design methodology of hot dry rock (HDR) geothermal reservoir cracks, the following researches are being performed. 1) Development of core based fracture toughness test for rock, 2) Theovetical and experimental research on crack growth behaviors during the hydraulic fracturing, 3) Characterization of crack growth behaviors in hydrothermal environments simulated by use of autoclave facilities, 4) Characterization of rock dissolution and scaling kinetics, 5) Development of geochemical reactor for advanced geothermal energy utilization.
