Research overview:
More than 80% of the noble metal ornament products, one of the representative local industries of the Prefecture, are manufactured by the lost-wax method. In this casting method, non-bonded imbedded member (SiO2+AlPO4) is used as platinum has a high melting point. As the imbedded member can be used only once, companies pay much expense to the industrial waste treatment company to dispose of it. Reuse of the imbedded member is very favorable to companies in economical aspects and also for environmental pollution prevention. In Heisei 11th, separation of impurities from broken non-bonded imbedded member is investigated and the physical properties of reused imbedded member mixed with water and binder and defoamed are compared with virgin member. In Heisei 12th, investigation on the comparison of products cast by virgin member and reused imbedded member and method of the use of reused member is carried out.
