Development of ground assistance equipment using FPGA

Research overview:
Astronomical observation using artificial satellites or rockets necessitates ground assistance equipment to process high-speed data owing to increased pixels and higher function of detectors, and since improvement of detector performance is rapid, prompt development of equipment should lead to observation ahead of the world. This study develops ground assistance equipment responsible to various future missions using FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array). In fiscal 2001 we introduced PCI board carrying FPGA and developed ground assistance equipment (high-speed data receiver) for apparatuses to be mounted on ASTRO-F.
