Existence of sodium atmosphere in Mercury has been known by ground observation since 1980s. However, the time available to observation is short since Mercury is near Sun and as high dispersion observation equipment is required to detect emission of D line of sodium, the number of observation is small and it is impossible to elucidate the process of formation and dissipation of sodium atmosphere from the observation results obtained so far. Our group performed design and investigation of the Na air-glow observation camera to be mounted on MMO which can elucide these subjects: Taking in the new method of using fabry-perot interferometer as a scanner using spin, we confirmed that sufficient performance is principally attained. In order to survey change of the property of fabry-perot interferometer with temperature, fabry-perot interferometer was prepared and facilities necessary for temperature test were prepared.
