In 1989, four kinds of lower fatty acids were newly specified as odorants in the Offensive Odor Control Law in Japan. So, it becomes to be necessary to find out what deodorizing method is the most effective and economical for removing the lower fatty acids from the odorous gas of various emission sources. The deodrizing tests by the laboratory scale equipment are carried out to know each removal efficiency of the following methods: biological deodorizing method, combusion method, adosorption method and so on.
