Research overview:
We are continuously tracking 'GEOTAIL' and 'Nozomi' by means of the Usuda antenna of 64-mφ. As for 'Nozomi', we have asked support of tracking and orbit determination by JPL/NASA, and cooperatively been conducting accuracy assessment by using the both tracking data (range and range rate). We are also conducting acquisition of tracking data for 'Nozomi' with new system of Kagoshima 34-mφ and carrying on experimental study on tracking control like data delivery etc. with actual data. We have also developed a new system to conduct tracking control with frequency in X-band for asteroid sample return mission 'MUSES-C', and conducted basic studies for profiting operation of future planetary explorations begun with 'MUSES-C'.
