Study on morphology of wild plants and their ecological behavior

Study period:1992 - 1994
Research overview:
At least for the present, study is proceeded centering on the analysis of spatial configuration pattern of tree trunks and branches. (1) With respect to several kinds of woody plants showing different ecological behaviors, quantitative analysis is made for the process of branching, growth of branches, and dying of branches. (2) A computer simulation program for restructuring the shape of the tree from the original process of the growth of branches is developed. (3) Utilizing this program, analysis is made to know how the process of the growth of the branch of each kind of trees relates to the efficiency of light receiving as a whole individual body.
