Research overview:
Temper bead welding is welding procedure to improve the toughness and hardness of HAZ of first layer by thermal cycles after second layer. However, welding condition in temper bead welding is not generally established and the correlation of metallurgical property and thermal cycle is also indefinite. This study investigates the correlation of metallurgical property of HAZ and thermal cycle and the welding condition to get the optimized temper effect using low alloy steel for reactor pressure vessel.
