Measurement of nuclear cross sections and/or a lead slowing-down spectrometer with a linear accelerator

Research overview:
Measurements of neutron total, capture and fission cross sections in the energy region from thermal neutrons to MeV range are carried out by the neutron time-of-flight method using 46 MeV electron linear accelerator at the Research Reactor Institute, Kyoto University. Also, making use of a lead slowing-down spectrometer coupled to the accelerator, fission and/or capture cross sections of actinide nuclides and long-lived fission products are measured below several ten's of kev.
