Study on posture control method for artificial satellite

Following studies are performed on the high precision triaxial posture control method for the scientific satellite for astronomical observation. (1) On the posture control system of 'ASTRO-F', the scan mode posture control method and static closed loop test by flight model are particularly performed. (2) On the control system for the ultra high precision posture stability, study on the optimum actuator drive rule is performed based on the thought to minimize total torque exerted on the satellite. (3) On the posture change control (posture maneuver), the practical method that performs desired posture change in a short time is investigated. At the same time, on the high velocity posture maneuver being applied CMG (Control・Momentum・Gyro) as a high torque actuator, investigation of its driving method, analysis of particular points, and evaluation of controlling ability are performed. (4) Considering the failure in the reaction wheel, study on the possibility of the triaxial posture control by 2 wheels has been started.
