Research of safety assessment method in waste disposal

Study period:1985 - 0
Research overview:
Safety assessment methodology is being developed to evaluate the radiological consequences to the public associated with radioactive waste disposals. This study is being carried out in accordance with "Study on basic philosopy of safety assessment about shallow land disposal of alpha-wastes", "Development of safety assessment methodology for geologic disposal of radioactive wastes", "Development of probabilistic assessment methodology for geologic disposal of radioactive wastes", "Research on the safety of TRU-wastes disposal", etc. in the Long-term Yearly Program for Safety Study on Radioactive Wastes(1996-2000) established by the Nuclear Safety Commission of Japan.
