Fundamental studies on the structure of wild animal population

Study period:1991 - 1994
Research overview:
Selecting natural populations of small wild animals having individual variation, the degree of success in their propagation is compared for each mutation group. For this purpose, their habitat is divided into plural small areas, each environmental condition is recorded, and the population density, survival rate, sex ratio and number of eggs, etc. in the area are measured. Based on the results, a mechanism of maintaining the population density and the individual variation is analyzed.
