Research overview:
We have been studying on genomic rearrangements mediated by genetic elements in rice. As summarized below, we have identified and characterized several kinds of genetic elements on the rice chromosome. One of these elements is a tandem repeat sequence (here called TrsA), and the others are transposable elements including retroposons, such as a plant SINE (called p-SINE1) and Ret1, and trasposons, such as Tnr1 and Tnr2.
