With accidents of falling concrete at public transportation facilities as a momentum, more suitable maintenance and management of concrete fabrics have been demanded. In particular, preventing exfoliation of concrete is necessary for securing performance of the fabric itself as well, but it must be grasped also from the viewpoint of preventing damage to the third party. For execution of checking fabrics with respect to this with a high accuracy and efficiency, it is considered that mere visual checking so far conducted is not necessarily sufficient because there is a huge number of tunnels and bridges as the object, but introduction of a new inspection procedure including development of nondestructive inspection devices is required. Although nondestructive inspection techniques in this field are now on the way of development, we have also to take short-range approaches by utilizing existing nondestructive inspection devices and the like that have already been put to practical use to some extent when considering necessity of the checking to be started shortly. We first investigated function and performance of existing apparatuses and conducted extraction of problems when various inspection apparatuses were mounted on vehicles and examination of its solving measures. Then we prepared an original plan of a concrete inspection vehicle mounting these inspection apparatuses.
