Research overview:
It is often the case with infants and old persons with senile dementia that they do not well understand the subject in inspections, and that they cannot maintain the required state. In the present study, we will use 2 Japanese monkeys, as models with which recognition and power of attention can be measured even when the subjects remain passive, and record P300 and MMN electrophysiologically. This study aims at deepening understanding about the recognizing function of infants and old people, by comparatively studying the recognition related potential of the monkeys in the case where the mode or contents of stimulus are changed with that of human beings.
