Research overview:
There are many local market industry which utilize barley to produce distilled spirits and been paste in Oita Prefecture. It is important to save stable demand of barley in the background of the low sale price and decrease of planted area. To establish the excellent barley-production. This study deals with selection of suitable varieties to produce distilled spirits or been paste and early heading varieties to cope with rice culture in early season, and development of the methods to prevent from occurence of husk underdevelopment and grain with ventral swelling of two rowed barley, and discolourration of naked barly.
