Physiological actions and mechanisms of lysospingolipids through their putative receptor

Research overview:
A group of lysosphingolipids are accumulated in response to some hormones or cytokines and mobilize Ca(2+) from internal pool. In addition to thier second messenger roles, we have recently found that the lipids interact with cell surface receptor to induce several responses in the cells. In this project, we try to identify and clone its putative receptor, and furthermore to clarify its signal transduction mechanism.
