Research overview:
In 1999, comparative tests are made using newly produced water temperature forecasting model which can be used for estuarine basin in order to grasp influence of use of river water heat for reducing energy consumption and heat exhaust on river water temperature. It is found that precise water forecasting can be made by using simple one-dimensional forecasting model. Influence of warm water discharge to Arakawa on water temperature is calculated using model, based on the schedule prepared in 1998. It is found that water temperature increases by 0.4 C at the maximum. It is necessary to forecast water temperature and water quality through a year in the future.
