Research overview:
A crystal surrounded by other host phases often changes its shape from angular to spherical in other to reduce its surface energy during solid-state annealing. This process is exprimentally reproduced to make the relationship between interfacial energy and curvature clear. The mechanism of diffusion around surface is also studied.
