Research overview:
The catch of "Funa(crucian carp)" and "Moroko" is decreasing and recovery and increasing of the fish catch is urgent. One of the reasons for decreasing catch of "Funa(crucian carp)" and "Moroko" is thought to be the devastation of coastal region where diversified creatures are living. In order to stabilize and increase natural resources of "Funa(crucian carp)" and "Moroko", it is necessary to recover functions of coastal region and conserve ecological system. Survey and development of technique for that purpose is performed in this study. Survey for environment is performed especially related to water quality and physical aspects such as the form of the site at spawning and hatching season. Although increase in fish catch by farming is necessary, farming technique of "Nigorobuna" or "Moroko" has not been established. Strains of "Nigorobuna" or "Moroko" adapted to farming are created using biotechnology to establish farming technique.
