Research overview:
For landslide buffer zone under slope, if the assumed distance of debris flow exceeds the width of buffer zone, passive type constructions, gravity concrete wall or soil bank, are considered for protection of houses. If impact force of debris flow is assumed great, buffering materials will be put in front of the passive type construction, however, there are few reports on the effectiveness of buffering materials to debris flow, and its effect is uncertain. Two subjects described above will be investigated. In the 11th year, survey of their present status and problems were analyzed.
