Study on establishment of the labor-saving and high-quality production technical system at the cultivation area of the rain proof tomato

Research overview:
1) Development of labor-saving・high-quality production technique for rain-proof cultivation: Pinching one tier of lateral shoots or two tiers of primary limbs has been considered to be effective for training plants when cell-molded nurses were directly planted. Vibration pollination has also been considered to be effective as it prevents hollow fruits. The installation-type simple mini canal system, made as a trial, was tested and showed the results that tomatoes are transported smoothly without any skin breakage, except for some well-ripe ones, and that its installation and removal are easy. Therefore, the installation-type water way seems to have high applicability. 2) Establishment of labor-saving・high-quality production technique system in rain-proof tomato cultivation fields: The results of an on-site test of magnetic grafting of rain-proof tomatoes showed 70 percent of take. The rate of take is expected to rise in more careful cultivation, and such grafting is considered to be a labor-saving and highly applicable grafting method.
