Research overview:
The target of this study is to develop a new material which retains both mechanical strength of metal and tenderness of wood. The combination of metal and wood, that is adhesive-wood-veneer wound metal tube, will provide wooden parts of the enough property in mechanical strength with suitable size for children and the older to grip. This composite material will be used widely, not only play ground equipments and handrails in a welfare house, but also common furniture and interior. And in order to satisfy the required properties of this composite materials for outdoor use, weathering and abrasing behavior will be improved by some chemical treatment.
