Study on sensor function of conductive polymers containing enzyme

A bio-sensor consists of a receptor part which cognizes a substance selectively and a transducer part which transforms the variation into an electric signal. Especially the bio-sensor that uses an enzyme as a receptor and an electrode as a transducer is very popular. On the other hand it is the problem that the conductive polymer thin film containing enzyme does not perform enough depending on its composition. Then in this study we intend to examine compositions and electrical and polymeric properties of conductive polymer thin film, to clarify relations between the properties and sensor response and concurrently to apply outcomes of the study to a formaldehyde sensor.
