Research overview:
To elucidate the acid rain phenomenon, this study finds background density for the evaluation of acid rain in Japan, clarifies the chemical/physical change mechanism of deposits on the ocean, and predicts the influence of medium-distance transportation on contaminants, by sampling rainfall and atmospheric deposits, analyzing ocean-origin components, sea-salt sulphate ions, and artificial components in the deposits using ion chromatography and inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy, and by carrying out ozone measurement and weather data analysis.
