Thermal design of "INDEX"

Research overview:
"INDEX" has to install instruments having different temperature range, highly exothermic, or low-temperature working instrument in its small compartment. Furthermore, since "INDEX" is a piggyback satellite of "H-IIA", it will be separated from a rocket early in a state of still unestablished attitude and motion, and thus it will take a process to the 3-axis attitude toward the Sun, with an initial capturing control technique. These conditions should be reflected in a severe thermal designing. We have completed the thermal design and analysis as for the stages of initial capturing and 3-axis attitude control, and confirmed that adequate control of each instrument is feasible in the expected temperature environment.
