Research overview:
Research is being made into the central nervous mechanism relating to control of motions by observing the state of activity of kinetic system of spinal cord during execution of voluntary movement, in human being. On the basis of knowledge obtained through such research, we would like to clarify physiology of state of various diseases eventually leading to central kinetic troubles (parkinsonism, cerebellar ataxia, sensory ataxia, spastic paralysis, etc.). As method of study, we instruct certain kinetic tasks by visual target pursuing method, record changes in physical parameters such as limb position, muscular force, motion speed, etc. and myo-electric diagram activities in various phases during execution of the movement concerned, and analyze synapse activity and nervous discharge activity in kinetic neuron and reflex circuit network, with combined use of induced myo-electric diagram method and microneuro-electrogram method.
