Establishment of marketing strategy and operation system for wide rice-cropping areas

According to the enforcement of New Food Control Act, the system for rice distribution has greatly changed as follows: (1) Competition among different production areas is getting fierce, since the government-controlled rice is now limited to production adjustment and stock adjustment. (2) The selling channels of rice are diversified and beginning to largely influence on the competitive powers among various production areas depending on the selling strategies, as a result of the change for the set up of rice-collecting agencies to the new registration system from the conventional designation system. (3) Selling agencies are now getting concentrated to bigger ones and systematized as Keiretsu, for more beneficial selling of large amount of unified quality rice, together with superiority in tastiness grade for each production area, as a result of change from permission system to registration system as for selling agencies.
