Long-term changes in the environment and organisms in the Oku-Nikko area

Study period:1990 - 1993
Research overview:
1) To develop the ideal measuring methods of forest environments and natural environments. 2) In addition to collecting and conducting long-term monitoring of soil water and underground water, to investigate the forest soil around the observation point and to analyze the forest rainfall and the trunk flow, and to use it as the basic data for explaining the substance circulation characteristics in forest ecosystems. 3)To elucidate the bryophyta botany in the forests of Oku-Nikko, and analyze the relation between the growth of bryophyta, and changes in botany and various macro and micro enyironmental factors. 4) In addition to elucidating the primary production and substance production of rivers in riverhead regions, to study the growth of river benthos and the change mechanism. 5) To investigate the change in the existing numberand production number of aquatic organisms in the lakes and marshes of Oku-Nikko, to make clear the correlation with the environment, and to make it the basic data for the environmental conservation of lakes and marshes.
