  • 1898/04
    Fukuoka Prefecture Fisheries Experimental Station was founded.
  • 1992/04
    Four former Fisheries Experimental Stations were united and reorganized into Fukuoka Fisheries and Marine Technology Research Center (Planning and Management Division, Chikuzen Regional Laboratory, Ariake Regional Laboratory, Buzenkai Laboratory, and Freshwater Laboratory).
  • 1998/04
    Fukuoka Fisheries and Marine Technology Research Center building was newly constructed and the Center was reorganized.
  • 1999/04
    The Fisheries Archive opened.
Purpose of establishment:
The purpose of the Center is to promote fisheries
and marine conservation by conducting researches,
experiments and analyses, teaching techniques,
giving information and counseling on oceanography
and fisheries.
