History (21):
  • 1900/06
    To promote the prefectural fishery, Kagawa Prefectural Fisheries Experimental Station was founded on June 15 and the temporary office was set up in the Kagawa Prefectural Office. The Station was moved to Nakakasai Mura, Kagawa Gun (present Kozaihon Machi, Takamatsu City) on September 1. A pelagic fishery vessel, Sanuki Maru (a schooner type sailing vessel, a total length of 11.8 m) was built.
  • 1901/12
    The new office was built in the same place.
  • 1904/08
    To conduct test survey on sea salt manufacture, a branch was founded in Sakaide Machi, Ayauta Gun (present Sakaide City), and experiment on using bittern was started in Katamoto Mura, Kita Gun (present Yashimanishi Machi, Takamatsu City). It was closed in March, 1908.
  • 1910/04
    Fisheries Experimental Station was transferred to Industry Encouragement Section, Department of Interior, Prefectural Office (present Fishery Department, Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Division).
  • 1912/10
    Research vessel, Sanuki Maru (26.35 t, sailing vessel) was built.

fishing industry as an experimental research
organization of fishing.
