Business overview:
Hokkaido has an area of 8.35 million ha, equal to
the total area of six prefectures of Tohoku district
and Niigata Prefecture, and it has a broad cultivated
land of 1.2 million ha. Each area has different
natural conditions such as soil and weather,
and the agriculture suited to each area has been
established.
Hokkaido Central Agricultural Experiment Station covers
five branch offices, Ishikari, Sorachi, Shiribeshi,
Iburi, and Hidaka, and supervises ten prefectural
agricultural experiment stations.
It conducts not only general operations such as planning
of research works about agriculture, progress management,
comprehensive adjustment, and information from the stand
point of all Hokkaido, but conducts also many kinds of
research works to raise efficiency by centralization.
