Purpose of establishment：
Silk Textile Industry Experiment Station was established in Watari Mura, Shinobu Gun.
The Station was renamed Fukushima Prefectural Industrial Experiment Station.
Fukushima Prefectural Brewery Experiment Station was established in Sukagawa Machi, Iwase Gun. Kawamata Branch of Fukushima Prefectural Industrial Experiment Station was established in Kawamata Machi, Date Gun in October, 1922.
Fukushima Prefectural Research Institute for Lacquer Work was established and renamed Aizu Branch of Fukushima Prefectural Industrial Experiment Station in April, 1928, and at the same time Fukushima Prefectural Brewery Experiment Station was abolished.
Fukushima Prefectural Industrial Experiment Station was abolished. Aizu Branch and Kawamata Branch were renamed Fukushima Prefectural Aizu Industrial Experimen Station
and Fukushima Prefectural Kawamata Experiment Station, respectively.
The necessity for Fukushima's industry today is to
rise the technological level of local enterprises,
develop leading-edge technology that produces high
value-added products, and nurture research and
development oriented industries.
Accordingly, the prefectural government provide
technical assistance and support for the research and
development activities of small business mainly
through the "Fukushima Technology Centre" in Koriyama
City and its three brabches around Fukushima.
