Purpose of establishment：
Osaka Seikei University Faculty of Art and Design was established.
At the Faculty of Art & Design of Osaka Seikei University,
you can study in those subject areas of particular interest
to you as widely as you wish according to your level. Even
if you are not especially good at painting or using computers,
your choices will never be limited, as there will be
alternative supplementary disciplines open to you. You can
also cross over to study in subject areas, to challenge and
deepen your interest potential. Needless to say, without
effort you learn nothing. University life may turn out a
bore for those students who lack curiosity. But for the
ambitious student, we can offer an ideal environment for
study where you can acquire many skills across the boundaries
of different genres.

Students will acquire visual communication ability by
studying the communication skills of multimedia.
Activities cover a wide range of subject areas which
include: advertising, editing, packaging, book design,
the Web, photo graphics, illustration and design
Besides the moving image and computer technology,
students also acquire the various basic skills and
viewpoints associated with digital images including
image editing, sound editing, and 2-D・3-D animation.
They then proceed to media expression utilizing the
latest technology such as image production, CG
animation, media art, image distribution on the
Internet and DVD authoring.
Spatial and Fashion Design
Students study the current social environment through
the creative arts in the fields of living space and
fashion, which are the closest subject areas to our
everyday life. Each class is well established to meet
the demands of a society which is becoming more and
more varied and complicated as people's awareness of
universal design and ecological problems grow.
Department of Art & Craft
Students explore their world of expression in the areas of
oil painting, acrylic painting and Japanese painting by
acquiring knowledge and techniques through various
assignments. They also examine how they relate to society
through paintings as expression of contemporary art.
Sculpture and Mixed Media
Students develop their practice on 3-D objects using both
natural materials such as wood, stone, and clay and also
artificial materials such as metal, FRP and so on. They
also focus on 2-D skills such as photography, the moving
image, animation, and CG.
Students explore various aspects of textiles as a
traditional craft, interior decoration, fashion or the
latest genre, fibre art, to find the most suitable
approach to it.
